Course Overview

This course aims to provide the fundamentals of non-life insurance and introduce the key ingredients necessary for a more thorough understanding of the concepts and practices of non-life. This course is divided into two parts starting with a bit of history, definition of terms, some characteristics of insurable risks, classifications of insurance, and a discussion on contracts. Part two is devoted to a discussion of parts of the insurance policy and the general principles of insurance.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of this course, the learners are expected to:

recall the brief history of insurance in the Philippines
recognize the key terms in insurance, classification of insurance, risks, and policy contract
identify the parts of insurance
show understanding of the six general principles
